I was recently sitting in a continuing education class for Real Estate agents, both brokers and affiliate brokers. I was shocked at the number of questions asked in class that revolved around creative marketing ideas. I come from a marketing background, but I quickly realized I was in the minority! My fellow real estate agents were happy to hear ideas from others in the room. I learned that almost all of agents were looking for a unique way to market both their listings and themselves that would help separate them from the herd. I created this blog with the vision of sharing the best ideas with fellow agents.
Take these ideas; make them your own! Just make sure before beginning a new real estate marketing program to run these ideas by your broker and check your state's requirements for advertising real estate. Each state has different requirements for real estate marketing.
I thought it would be best to break these ideas down into a couple different categories:
Building the Real Estate Marketing Plan
As of the writing of this posting, Realtor.com is reporting that the average house is on the market for 62 days (April 2017 statistic)! That means as a real estate agent, you are waiting over two months to get paid. How many more houses could you sell, if you were selling them quicker? Fewer showings, fewer headaches, and happier homeowners! That's why I have a whole group of ideas planned that will help you build the best real estate marketing plan possible.
Marketing the Real Estate Agent
The Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) estimates that there are about 2 million active real estate licensees in the United States. That is stiff competition that every real estate agent is facing in the marketplace. That is why building your brand is so very important. Stay tuned for great ideas to boost your visibility! A large focus of this category will be on customer relationship management for the real estate agent.
Commercial Real Estate Marketing
I would be very remiss if I did not include a section of ideas for the commercial real estate agent. Marketing is just as important in commercial sales and leasing, but marketing to a business often calls for different ideas than marketing a residential property to an individual or family.
Every blog is a journey, so I may add more categories as time goes along. Which of these areas are you needing the most help in?
